E 1.1.3 GOD’S WILL ON REPENTANCE
1a. GOD’S WILL IS ALL SHOULD REPENT & BE SAVED Psa. 80:3, John. 3:16, Matt. 9:13, 1 Tim.2:3-4
Restore us, O God; make your face shine upon us, that we may be saved. Psalm 80 : 3
I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance Matt. 9:13
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John. 3:16
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:3-4
1b. THE LORD IS PATIENT WITH US, NOT WANTING ANYONE TO PERISH, BUT EVERYONE TO COME TO REPENTANCE
2 Peter 3: 9 – The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
1c. THERE WILL BE MORE REJOICING IN HEAVEN OVER ONE SINNER WHO REPENTS THAN OVER NINETY-NINE RIGHTEOUS PERSONS WHO DO NOT NEED TO REPENT Luke 15: 9
2.GOD WANTS ALL MEN EVERYWHERE TO REPENT
30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.” Acts 17:30-31 – NKJV
3.MY PEOPLE …. IF THEY SEEK MY FACE, … I WILL HEAL THEIR LAND – GOD RELENTS, WHEN ONE REPENTS
2 Chronicles 7 : 14 – if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Jonah 3:10 – Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
4.GOD CHANGES HIS PLANS, WHEN MAN CONTINUES TO REBEL AND SIN
Ezekiel 24 :14 – I, the Lord, have spoken it; It shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not hold back, Nor will I spare, Nor will I relent; According to your ways And according to your deeds, they* will judge you,” Says the Lord God.'”
5.LIKEWISE, IF ONE DOES NOT REPENT, THEY WILL ALSO PERISH
Luke 13:1-5 : 1 There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things?
3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.
4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem?
5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
5a. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.
THEREFORE, BE ZEALOUS AND REPENT. Rev 3:19
